Keeping it Fun
One day after class I noticed a young boy seating down so I went to seat beside him.
As I sat down next to the student, I noticed a look of disappointment on his face. I knew I had to try to cheer him up. "Hey, is everything okay?" I asked.
The student looked up at me with a sad expression and said, "During game time, I didn't win a single time. I wish I had won at least once."
I felt for the student. I remembered how important winning was to me when I was younger, but I also knew the value of having fun. "Did you have fun during play time?" I asked.
The student's face lit up as he replied, "Yes, I did."
I smiled. "Well, that's the most important thing, isn't it? Winning or losing doesn't matter as long as you're having fun. And you had fun, so that's a win in my book!"
The student's expression changed from disappointment to one of happiness and relief. I could tell that my words had made a positive impact on him.
I continued, "In fact, when we play games or participate in activities, we shouldn't worry so much about winning or losing. The main goal is to have fun and enjoy ourselves. That's what makes the experience worthwhile."
The student nodded, and we sat there for a few more minutes, just enjoying each other's company. As the bell rang, the student smiled and thanked me for the talk. I walked away feeling happy that I was able to make a difference in someone's day, even if it was just with a few words of encouragement.
Now go out there and kill it and anything you decide to do.
